If the internet whispers are anything to go by, we could be expecting a new André 3000 solo album to drop early next year. Even though we got a bit of a teaser when he teamed up with Beyoncé on a cover for The Great Gatsby soundtrack, and we’ll be able to catch him embodying the great Jimi Hendrix in the upcoming biopic, the rumour mill started buzzing when producer Mike WiLL Made It ‘grammed a photo of the two in the studio with the caption “I’m sorry Ms. Jackson…. 3staxx voice. #StayTuned.”
The latest to add fuel to the fire is BET’s Stephen G. Hill, live-tweeting his personal run-in with the former Outkast member backstage at Lil’ Wayne and T.I’s Washington show. It’s been seven years since we last heard a full body of musical work from Three Stacks, which was the soundtrack to 2006’s Idlewild, so even the possibility of this being true is getting fans geed worldwide. Of course, there’s been no official confirmation from Andre’s camp but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.
Soooo. just ran into Andre 3000 backstage at the Wayne/TI/2 Chainz show in DC. So there’s that.
